Samsung Wave II vs Nexus S Mobile Comparison

Samsung Google Nexus S in India could not gather much attention and on the other hand Samsung Wave II has been a success. The competition between two Samsung smartphones in India is a tough one. Both are featured packed and have something to say. A comparison of important feature of the phone will reveal which one is ahead of the other.

Size and Looks:
Both smart phones are elegant and have stylish looks. Both have block form factor with large touch screens. Nexus has curved edges giving it a healthy look, even though it weighs only 129g and just 10.9mm thick. The front glass of the device and screen has a mirror giving it a shinny look.Wave2 is very much like the original wave but slightly larger due to larger screen size. The built is strong with the large screen dominating the front on view and the metal back plate to add to the solidity.

Display:
Wave II features a 3.7 inch super clear LCD capacitive touch screen with 16M color support and resolution size of 400*800 pixels. The Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen of Nexus S matches the screen resolution of the competitor along with 16M color support but it manages to get to that 4.0 inch mark when it comes to screen size giving it a slight edge over Wave II.

Operating System And Processor:
Although both these smart phones are manufactured at Samsung laboratories, the association of Google with Nexus signifies that Nexus run the android OS, v2.3 where as Wave2 has the Samsung’s own Bada OS, v1.2. Both smart phones have the same 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, humming bird chipset and PowerVR SGX 540 GPU.

Camera:
Both smart phones features a 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash but Samsung Wave II takes the lead with a slightly higher resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels compared to 2560 x 1920 pixels and ability to record HD 720p video at 30fps.Nexus records video at WVGA @30fps.The additional features like smile, face, blink detection, image stabilization and a 2MP front camera compared to 0.64Mp in Nexus makes Wave II a clear winner.

Storage:
Nexus provides an internal storage capacity of 16GB compared to 2GB in Wave2, it also has a 512MB of RAM. The unavailability of a card slot in Nexus is an extremely negative aspect whereas the storage capacity in Wave II can be extended with the help of micro sd card up to 32GB, this evens it out to quiet an extent.
It is very difficult to choose the winner between the two on the basic of the features and specifications but the Android lovers will surely be pushed towards Nexus and the price in the end will have a part to play when choosing between the two.
